What Is BPM EXPO?
BPM EXPO 2026 is a two-day immersive music industry experience hosted at Troy University's prestigious John M. Long School of Music. This isn't your typical conference where students sit and watch from a distance.
Designed specifically for high school and university music programs, BPM EXPO seamlessly combines live performance, professional recording and production techniques, and comprehensive music business education into one powerful, integrated event. Students don't just observe—they actively participate, create, and learn.
Participants rehearse with professional musicians, record in state-of-the-art facilities, perform on fully-equipped stages, and learn directly from working industry professionals and experienced university faculty. Every session takes place in authentic music industry environments, providing students with invaluable real-world experience that bridges the gap between academic learning and professional practice.

Track 1
Production Track
The Production Track immerses students in the technical art of capturing, shaping, and perfecting sound. From fundamental recording techniques to cutting-edge spatial audio, students experience the complete audio production pipeline.
Sessions cover recording methodology, mixing strategies, live sound reinforcement, Dolby Atmos spatial audio, professional studio workflow, and critical listening development. Students work with industry-standard equipment and software, learning the same techniques used in top recording facilities worldwide.
Whether you're interested in studio recording, live sound engineering, or post-production, this track provides essential skills and industry insights that translate directly to professional practice.
Track 3
Music Track
The Music Track focuses on the art and craft of musical performance, creation, and collaboration. This track is designed for performers, composers, and arrangers who want to elevate their musicianship and understand professional music-making at the highest level.
Sessions explore advanced performance techniques, songwriting and composition strategies, arrangement for different ensembles, professional ensemble workflows, and session musician best practices. Students learn from experienced performers and educators who work regularly in both academic and professional music settings.
Through hands-on workshops, masterclasses, and collaborative sessions, participants develop both technical skills and artistic vision. The Music Track emphasizes the importance of versatility, preparation, and professionalism in all musical contexts.
How the Tracks Connect
While each track offers specialized knowledge, BPM EXPO is designed to show students how production, business, and music fundamentally interconnect in the real music industry. Successful music careers require understanding all three dimensions.

Your creative foundation and artistic voice
Production
Capturing and shaping your sound professionally
Business

Students are encouraged to explore sessions across multiple tracks, discovering how these elements work together to create successful music careers and impactful projects.
